Today was an amazing day spent in Yankton, South Dakota. We attended and participated in the "Raise the Roof" kick off for the start of the refurbishing of the Mead building. This mental health building was built in 1909 by Dr. Mead. Stonebrook Roofing has a contract to restore the tile roof and copper gutter system, to it's original order.
Stonebrook Rooking had tiles removed and crated for the donors and dignitaries
My nephew Steve Kunkel-owner of Stonebrook Roofing. (so proud of him!!!)

OK...this was weird. Remember bomb shelters?? Will, they had a fall out shelter. It was like time stood still. They were prepared with survival cans of biscuits and crackers and personal hygiene supplies.
Crackers.......
A closet full of supplies
Iodine...my mother would put iodine on everything. If you had a cut she would reach for the "iodine"
Inside the front entrance
Steve Kunkel and his dad Tom Kunkel
back at Tom and Nancy's house. They just finished putting a flower bed in their side yard with bird feeders, bird bath and pond. Its like going to the zoo. There were 5 deers, 6 turkeys and more bird then you can count all at once! Tom and Nancy also took us for a boat ride Sunday evening. We had the lake almost to ourselves, so relaxing. Always a fun time when we go to Yankton.
